New Mercies

The Word of God tells us that His mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

With a new day and a new year upon us comes the promise of hope renewed and a time of reflection.

Each day, new year and new opportunity gives us time to pause, to think back over our pasts and to humbly come before God to ask Him to cover our sins, to protect our hearts from the things that hurt us and to thank Him for the many blessings He pours out on our lives.

There is much hurt and sin in our daily lives because we live in a fallen world. There are many who are struggling just to take another breath, many whose hearts have been crushed.

As we walk into this next year, the next day, the next hour, minute….  May you find God ever present as you seek Him in your daily bible study and as your heart cries out to Him.

As much hurt as there is in this world, there is also much beauty.

He blesses us with glorious nature all around us, with people who love us even on our ugliest days; with families and friends, with church families. SO many blessings, too many to count.

As we look forward to this new year, may we all resolve that nothing on this earth would take the place that He alone belongs. That our hearts would be centered on Him, that He would rule our hearts, that He alone would be the treasure that we are forever digging deeper to find. That we will continually say “For where my treasure is, there my heart is” (Matthew 6:21) And that Christ would be the treasure!

You tell us to seek You and we will find You (Matthew 7:7)

May this year find us seeking Him above all of the pain, heartache and yes, even above all of the beauty and blessings; for it is He who is above all of these things, He who holds all of these things in His hands (Colossians 1:17), He who is worthy of praise (Psalm 145:3)

Happy New Year!
